Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)

Cat in a humane trap
Feral cats in a colony are humanely trapped.
They are taken to a clinic to be spayed or neutered.
After recovery, they are returned to their territory where caretakers provide regular food and shelter.
Young kittens who can still be socialized, along with friendly adults, may be placed in foster care and eventually adopted.

TNR Application Process

  1. Complete the TNR Online Application Form.
  2. Complete any required TNR application and feline inventory paperwork and send it to P.O. Box 851, Maywood, IL 60153.
  3. Read the Cook County ordinance and caretaker responsibilities.
  4. Once applications are approved, CatVando contacts caretakers about training.

The TNR fee includes surgery, rabies vaccine, FVRCP vaccine, Revolution, microchip and ear tip for community cats. If you don't have the funds, don't let that stop you — contact CatVando.
